The perfect present for any spa-loving female–and especially appearance-conscious teens–Style on Hand presents sumptuous photographs that illustrate proper manicure, pedicure, and nail-care techniques, including tips for reflexology massage and nutritional advice for the healthiest nails. Elisa Ferri, manicurist to the superstars, and Lisa Kenny, a professional hand model, reveal their tricks of the trade, including money-saving ones (such as that most nail polish formulations are identical, and less expensive brands may be of better quality than their chi-chi, richly packaged counterparts). Homemade beauty masks for the hands and feet, guidelines for manicures for men, and hints for professional-looking nail extensions ensure that this book will make a much-used reference.

Who needs a book about NAILS? What a waste of my money and what a waste of paper. I found it boring and painful to read. Although I have beautiful nails I don’t need a book on how to take care of them. Borrrring.

Although this book has some nice pictures, I think it’s lacking in detail. I wanted to know what brands of products are being used.

In all fairness the book did have a considerable amount of information, but the information was geared to the consumer or novice…definately not for the nail tech. There was little information regarding decorative nails, and again it was all basic information that one probably learned in beauty school. There are definately better books out there contain more knowledge than this one. If you are hoping to learn something new this is not the book for you.

I love this book. The photo illustrations alone make it worth its cost. A must-have for the nail lover
